Hello everyone! What a year last year was. It really was tough for us all in so many different ways. I have decided that I am making this year my year of self love, and I urge you all to do the same.
It can be so hard to love yourself and look after yourself at times, however it is so important. Whether it’s looking in the mirror and telling yourself you are amazing, writing down 5 things you feel grateful for a week, or relaxing in a bath with a glass of wine!
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and at The Little Green Larder we are celebrating love. Love and Valentine’s Day isn’t just for couples, it comes in all shapes and sizes. Love between people of any sex, love for your best friend, your family, your pet and especially love for yourself. Love is love and it’s always beautiful.
Today I thought I would put together a wee list of sustainable Valentine’s gifts to give you some inspiration. Treat yourself, treat your loved ones, and be kind to the environment when you are doing so.
The wonderful thing about vegan pick and mix is everyone can eat it! It is a super inclusive sustainable sweet treat and no animals are harmed to make it. At The Little Green Larder we sell it loose for you to fill up your own containers, or you can click here and have it delivered to your door in a compostable, eco-friendly pouch.
No Planet B Hoodie
We know you guys all care about the environment as much as we do, so why not make sure everyone knows that there really is no planet B?! It is still freezing outside, so this hoodie is perfect for keeping you cosy! Click here to buy one.
The hoodies are ethical and sustainable and are screen printed by hand using water based, solvent free vegan inks.
The garments are 100% organic cotton and the entire production process is controlled and certified in accordance with the latest version of GOTS, made in manufacturing facilities powered by green renewable energy from low-impact raw materials by a verified ethical manufacturer.
A Jar of Love
My lovely friend Julie gave me a jar of love for my 30th birthday and it was the best gift ever. She wrote down lots of things that she loved about me, and little quotes and memories that we share. If I am ever having a tough day I take out a bit of paper and it always makes me smile! All you need is a jar, some paper and a pen!
These T-shirts are so cute and the perfect gift for right now! It is so important for us to look after our planet and be kind!
Like the hoodies, these tees are ethical and sustainable and are screen printed by hand using water based, solvent free vegan inks.

Instead of a plastic based shower puff or mitt, why not get a love heart loofah? Made from the loofah plant and totally compostable, these are much more sustainable. And let’s face it, who doesn’t like a wee love heart on Valentine’s Day?
We love our #TLGL designs so much that we now have them available as prints! Our sustainable prints have been designed as a collaboration between The Little Green Larder and artist Jacqueline Jade. Click here to see the full collection.
They are printed in Scotland using eco friendly vegan inks on 100% recycled paper manufactured in Hemel Hempstead, using the heritage steam-driven ‘Fourdrinier’ machine at Frogmore Mill: the world’s first mechanised paper-making machine dating back to 1895, and still in use today.
The prints come with a recycled backing board to keep them straight and in a plant starch compostable envelope.
We have lots of different types of bags available on our website. Click here and have a look. It won’t be long till we can go back to school or uni, or go on picnics and weekends away, so why not get these a gift to enjoy what’s to come?
I hope that this blog has given you some great ideas and inspiration for Valentine’s Day. You don’t need to buy plastic tat to show someone you love them. Whatever your budget, there is something here for you.
